This is a space for sharing Social Justice Resources that I have collected to prepare for meaningful action. It is partly a journal of how this work became important to me across the years as I both celebrate past work and confront my past behaviors and strive to become antiracist. Because of the Covid 19 shut down and as a member of the most vulnerable group, I started with the purpose of supporting small businesses while isolating. Then, after the murder of George Floyd, I found the opportunity to participate in an effort by a black owned business (Fulton Street Books Ally Box, Tulsa Oklahoma, Onikah Asamoa-Caesar) developed to teach white people how to be real allies and find ways to help with BLM.

The centerpiece of the Year of Purpose is asking educators to reflect on their own work in relationship to anti-racist pedagogy and
abolitionist practice, persistently challenging themselves
to center Black lives in their classrooms.

As a retired music educator and librarian, I am focusing my allyship efforts toward changes in education, especially curriculum and materials. I will focus on accountability from the state government and school systems in my local area and support my family's communities efforts for all social justice issues.
